Peter Lechenauer (born June 27, 1958 in Salzburg ) is a former Austrian politician ( FPÖ ) and lawyer. From 1994 to 1999 he was a member of the Salzburg state parliament .

education and profession

Peter Lechenauer was born in Salzburg as the son of the lawyer Paul Lechenauer and the lawyer Helga Lechenauer. He attended elementary school in Salzburg between 1964 and 1968 and then graduated from the academic high school in Salzburg between 1968 and 1976. In 1976 he passed the Matura at the Academic Gymnasium and then did his military service from 1976 to 1977. He continued his education from 1976 with a law degree at the University of Salzburg . Lech Auer was graduated in 1980 with the promotion of Doctor of Laws ( Dr. iur. ) Complete. He received a scholarship from the Ministry of Science and studied European law at the Collège d'Europe in Bruges from 1980 to 1981 . He completed his post-graduate studies there with the Certificate of Advance European Studies (Certificat de Hautes Etudes Europeennes). In the summer of 1981 he also studied economics at the American Institute for Economic Research in Great Barrington, Massachusetts as a Summer Fellow with a scholarship. Lechenauer completed his court year at the Abtenau District Court and the Salzburg Regional Court from 1981 to 1982 and then joined his father's law firm in Salzburg from 1982 to 1986 as a trainee lawyer. From July 1986 he worked as an independent lawyer in Salzburg, initially working with his father in a law firm. Since 2007 he has been working in a partnership with lawyer Alexandra Dosch.

Lechenauer continued his education between 1994 and 1996 through a post-graduate course in European law, which he completed with the professional title of "Academically Certified European Law Expert". In 2003 he expanded his knowledge with the completion of a master’s degree and became a Master of Laws (LL.M.). In 2008 he also began a post-graduate course in medical law at the Johannes Kepler University in Linz.

politics

Lechenauer became a member of the FPÖ and represented his party from May 2, 1994 to April 26, 1999 as a member of the state parliament, and from 1995 to 1999 he was also the FPÖ's deputy chairman in the state parliament. He resigned from the FPÖ in 2002.

Functions

Lechenauer was made Honorary Consul of France in 2003 and Knight of the Ordre national du Mérite in 2007.
