Peter Liu Cheng-chung
Peter Liu Cheng-chung ( Chinese 劉振忠 , Pinyin Liú Zhènzhōng ; born April 12, 1951 in Hushuei ) is a Taiwanese clergyman, Archbishop ad personam and Bishop of Kaohsiung .
Life
Peter Liu Cheng-chung received on 13 April 1980, the sacrament of Holy Orders . Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Chiayi on July 1, 1994 .
The Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples , Cardinal Jozef Tomko , ordained him episcopal on September 28 of the same year ; Co - consecrators were Paul Shan Kuo-hsi SJ , Bishop of Kaohsiung, and Joseph Ti-kang , Archbishop of Taipei .
On July 5, 2004, he was appointed Coadjutor Bishop of Kaohsiung . After the retirement of Cardinal Paul Shan Kuo-hsis SJ he succeeded him on January 5, 2006 as Bishop of Kaohsiung. On November 21, 2009, he was raised to the rank of Archbishop ad personam .
