Peter Ludlow
Peter Jay Ludlow (born January 16, 1957 ) is an American philosopher of language who is particularly dedicated to interdisciplinary problems such as the philosophical foundation of generative linguistics by Noam Chomsky and who has made influential contributions to legal informatics . The thinker also publishes under the pseudonym Urizenus Sklar .
Life
After graduating from Bethel University in Minnesota with a bachelor's degree in 1979 , Ludlow studied under Chomsky and James Higginbotham at MIT and the mathematics philosopher Charles Parsons at Columbia University , where he received his Ph.D. acquired. After graduating, the thinker, who has been professor of philosophy at Northwestern University since 2008 , taught at the University of Toronto , the University of Michigan and Stony Brook University . In 2014 Northwestern University took disciplinary action against Ludlow for sexual intrusiveness towards a female student; Ludlow takes legal action against it.

Philosophically, Ludlow a. a. with the relationship between linguistics and philosophy of language, opposing Chomsky's I-Language hypothesis on the basis of methodological minimalism with his “Ψ-language hypothesis” in order to gain space for the theoretical processing of mental states taking into account non-mental factors. Based on the article Interpreted Logical Forms , the philosopher developed the concept of dynamic lexicons of natural vocabulary, whereby the meaning of everyday terms is negotiated by the participants in the conversation.
