Peter Matus (born November 4, 1985 ) is an Australian - Slovak ice hockey player who was last under contract with Melbourne Ice in the Australian Ice Hockey League until 2010 .

Career

Peter Matus began his career as a hockey player with the Melbourne Ice , for which he was active in the 2001 to 2003 seasons in the Australian Ice Hockey League . He then played for three years in the Slovak U20 junior league for HK Ružinov 99 Bratislava and HKm Zvolen . For HK PPS Detva he made his professional ice hockey debut in the 2006/07 season when he scored two goals in 20 games in the first division , the second Slovak division. The defender then returned to his ex-club Melbourne Ice, for which he played until 2010 and with which he won the Goodall Cup , the Australian championship title, for the first time in 2010 .

International

For Australia , Matus took part in the junior division of the U18 Junior D World Championship in 2003 , the U20 Junior D World Championship in 2003 and 2004 and the U20 Junior C World Championship in 2005 . In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the 2004 , 2005 and 2006 World Cups .

In addition, Matus took part in the 2009 IIHF Inline Hockey World Championship with the Australian national inline hockey team.
