Peter Meincke
Peter Meincke (born January 13, 1953 in Waiblingen ) is a German music teacher and conductor .
Career
Meincke studied school music, singing and musicology, a. a. with Wolfgang Gönnenwein and Frieder Bernius . In 1976 he became cantor of the ev. Overall church community in Stuttgart-Vaihingen . Since 1980 he has been the headmaster of the Korntal-Münchingen music school. There he founded the Chamber Orchestra in 1984 and the Korntal-Münchingen Chamber Choir in 1986. With his ensembles he performed many important works of oratorio literature, from Bach's St. Matthew Passion to Orff's Carmina Burana . Since 2002 he has been leading the Waiblingen Philharmonic Choir.
As a singing teacher, Meincke was involved in giving new impulses to the previously instrumental competition Jugend musiziert by adding the subject of singing. Since then, Peter Meincke has been chairman of the jury in the state competition Jugend musiziert and represents the subject of singing in the state committee Jugend musiziert at the Baden-Württemberg State Music Council . In the State Association of Music Schools in Baden-Württemberg , he heads the Singing Group, a training platform for singing teachers in Baden-Württemberg. He works as a specialist advisor for the Federal Association of Music Schools.
As a singer, Peter Meincke is a soloist and also works in many ensembles. a. in the Montanarachor .
In 2010 the city of Korntal-Münchingen appointed him music director, and in 2013 Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann awarded him the Staufer Medal of the State of Baden-Württemberg for his services .
