Peter Meyer (politician, 1963)
Peter Meyer (born April 25, 1963 in Wunsiedel ) is a German local and state politician ( free voters ). Meyer was III. Vice-President of the Bavarian State Parliament and from 2008 to 2018 member of the parliamentary group of Free Voters.
Professional and private
After graduating from high school in Wunsiedel in 1982, he did his basic military service in Regensburg and from 1983 studied law at the University of Bayreuth . In 1991 he completed his legal training with the second state examination .
He initially worked as a judge at the Kronach District Court from 1991 to 1992 , then from 1992 to 1993 at the government of Upper Franconia , from 1994 to 1996 at the State Prosecutor's Office in Bayreuth, then from 1997 to 2001 at the Forchheim district office and from 2001 to 2008 again for the government of Upper Franconia.
He is married and has three children.
Political career
In the state elections in 2008 he was elected to the Bavarian state parliament via the Upper Franconian district list. The re-election took place in 2013 via the district list of Upper Franconia. Since October 20, 2008 he is III. Vice-President of the Bavarian State Parliament and in February 2016 he was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Public Service Issues. Meyer has been a member of the Hummeltal municipal council since May 2008 and has been a member of the Bayreuth district council since May 2014.
Honorary positions
Meyer is a member of the regional synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria and spokesman for church politics. He is a member of the examination committees of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce , the examination committee for driving instructors in Bavaria and also active in the Bavarian Education Center for Local Policy in Thurnau.
