Peter Nehls ( April 12, 1939 - March 16, 2012 ) was a German Ju-Jutsuka and author of the book Das Ju-Jutsu-Brevier .

Life

Peter Nehls began his sporting career in Jiu-Jitsu , where he reached the 5th Dan by 1970 . In 1970 he switched to Ju-Jutsu and was first downgraded to a 3rd Dan, as the belt system at the beginning of Ju-Jutsu did not yet have a higher graduation. At the end of 1970 he became the first national coach Ju-Jutsu, a position he held until 1980. At the same time he was (until 1977) Reich trainer in Denmark . Nehls held other offices in the German Judo Association (DJB), to which the Ju-Jutsu was affiliated, and in the German Dan College (DDK) until 1983. He then continued to work as a trainer and speaker. In 1994 he was awarded the 8th Dan. In addition to ju-jutsu and jiu-jitsu, he also held master degrees in aikido and karate .

In 1975 Nehls published the non-fiction book Das Ju-Jutsu-Brevier for the first time together with Dieter Rast , the 22nd edition of which was last published in 2006.

Nehls taught at the sports school of the Federal Border Guard . He died in 2012 after a long illness.
