Peter Neukomm

Peter Neukomm (born July 6, 1962 in Schaffhausen , resident in Hallau SH ) is a Swiss politician ( SP ). He has been Mayor of Schaffhausen since January 2015. His predecessor was Thomas Feurer .

Life

Neukomm grew up in Löhningen and Schaffhausen. He closed the 1982 Matura at the Kantonsschule Schaffhausen and studied 1982-1988 Law at the University of Zurich . From 1989 he worked as a clerk at the Cantonal Court of Schaffhausen. Between 1991 and 2012 he was examining magistrate and public prosecutor for the canton of Schaffhausen . After his election to the city ​​council , he reduced his workload to 30% in 2009.

Neukomm is married and has three children. His hobbies are jogging and tennis .

Neukomm was President of Juso Schaffhausen between 1979 and 1982 . In 1984 he founded the local section Löhningen and served on its board until 1988. Since 1991 he has been a member of the board of the SP City of Schaffhausen, which he also chaired between 1993 and 1996. From 1993 to 2008 he was a member of the Grand City Council . In 2012 Neukomm was elected to the Cantonal Council and had the highest number of votes.

On September 28, 2014, Neukomm was elected as Mayor of Schaffhausen and thus succeeded Thomas Feurer on January 1, 2015 .
