Peter Orth

Peter Orth (born December 13, 1964 ) is a German Middle Latin philologist .

Life

From 1984 to 1992 he studied Middle Latin Philology, Latin Philology , History and Library Science in Cologne , where he passed the first state examination for teaching positions in Latin and history in 1990 and received his doctorate in Middle Latin Philology in 1992 . From 1992 to 2003 he was a research assistant , assistant and senior assistant at the Department of Latin Philology of the Middle Ages and the modern era in Erlangen , where he specialized in June 2001 in Latin Philology of the Middle Ages and the modern era habilitation was. In the summer semester of 2002 he was in the chair for Medieval Latin Philology at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and in the winter semester of 2002/2003 he was a chair at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel . From April 2003 to September 2006 he was a research assistant at Monumenta Germaniae Historica in Munich , where he was in charge of the Poetae Latini medii aevi department. On October 1, 2006, he took over the chair for Medieval Latin Philology at the University of Cologne .
