Peter Przystaniak (* 1956 in Mainz ) is a German pianist and composer.

Przystaniak studied at the Academy of Musical Art in Darmstadt piano and placed there in 1982 his degree from. Afterwards he worked at the Staatstheater Darmstadt as musical director of the theater. There followed a time as a freelance musician, during which he gave numerous concerts in various European countries.

In addition to his pianistic activity, he is also active as an arranger and composer. He now lives in Oppenheim and teaches at the music school of the VG Nieder-Olm as well as at the Academy for Tonkunst piano, jazz piano, jazz harmony teaching and music practice. With the clarinetist Irith Gabriely he founded the Klezmer Ensemble Colalaila in 1986 and later the Ensemble Colalaila classic, which has since enjoyed success across Europe with traditional Jewish and classical music, jazz and original compositions by Peter Przystaniak.

Several collections of scores for klezmer and classical music have been published by renowned German music publishers from his pen. a. at Schott Music (Mainz) and Edition Peters ( Leipzig and Frankfurt am Main ). Here are u. a. to be named "That's Klezmer" for 2 clarinets (or other instruments) and piano, "Five Angels" for clarinet (or other instruments) and piano, "Cool Christmas" for bold. Female choir and an obligatory male voice, as well as flute and instrumental parts, "That's Gospel" for 4-5 parts mixed choir and solo and "Soul to Soul" for piano solo.
