Peter R. Pawlik

Peter Rolf Pawlik (born April 5, 1946 in Wilhelmshaven ) is a German architect , historian and author .

Career

After graduating from the Freiherr-vom-Stein-Schule in Wilhelmshaven, he completed a two-and-a-half year apprenticeship as a bricklayer from 1963 to 1965 with distinction and a qualification as a skilled worker at Peter Bauwens. He did his military service in the Panzer Grenadier Battalion in Varel , last rank: Lieutenant of the Reserve . From 1968 to 1971 he studied structural engineering at the State Engineering Academy in Oldenburg with an engineering degree . He then moved to the Technical University of Berlin , where he studied architecture and urban planning , and then turned to the focus on hospital construction at the institute of the same name. There he also completed his diploma examination in 1974 with Peter Poelzig and Franz Labryga. During his studies he worked in various architecture offices in Germany and Switzerland.

He then worked as an architect in Georgije Nedeljkov's Berlin office (hospital construction, medical technology, competitions). From 1977 to 1982 he headed the Berlin office of the Planungsring Dr. Jüchser.

In 1984 he became a Dr.-Ing. At the Technical University of Berlin on the subject of "Analysis of the hospital building ordinances currently in force in the FRG". PhD. Since 1983 he has been working as a freelance architect, initially as a partner in the Dr. Jüchser and Dr. Pawlik and since 1989 in the planning ring Dr. Pawlik. He has implemented around 100 projects with his office, more than half of which are hospital projects. He has given regular lectures at home and abroad and was a lecturer in hospital construction at the Diakonie University. Pawlik was a board member of AKG architects for hospital construction and healthcare for 16 years and its chairman for 9 years. He is a member of the board of the DGKG-German Society for Hospital History e. V. and German delegate in the UIA Public Health Group. As a book author, he has written three architectural monographs and several books and essays on medical history topics.
