Peter Werner Jürgen Rebsch (born February 20, 1938 in Berlin ; † September 16, 2007 there ) was a German lawyer and politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

Peter Rebsch was born on February 20, 1938 in Berlin and grew up in Spandau . After attending school, he began studying law, which he completed with two state exams. He then worked for an insurance company. In addition, he was active as a marksman, had been the sports director of the Berlin-Brandenburg Shooting Association since 1969 and was vice-president of the German Shooting Federation (DSB) from 1973 to 1982 . At the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich , he organized the rifle and pistol shooting competition. Four years later, at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montréal, the National Olympic Committee of Germany commissioned him to lead the sport shooting team. Peter Rebsch died on September 16, 2007 at the age of 69 in his hometown and was buried in the Berlin cemetery In den Kisseln .

politics

Rebsch joined the CDU in 1958 and since 1967 was the citizens' deputy of the school committee of the district council in Spandau , of which he was a member from 1971 to 1975. He moved into the Berlin House of Representatives in 1979 and was elected President of the House of Representatives on June 11, 1981. He held this office until March 1989. After that he was a member of the House of Representatives until 1995.
