Peter Rüdiger Richter (born October 11, 1985 in St. Ingbert ) is a German lawyer and politician ( NPD ). Richter is the deputy chairman of the Saarland regional association and was the representative of the federal party in the second NPD ban proceedings (2013–2017).

Life

education

Richter attended the Albertus-Magnus-Gymnasium in St. Ingbert, Saarland, and passed his Abitur there in 2005 with a grade point average of 1.0. He then began studying law at Saarland University , which he completed in 2010 with the first legal exam (14.33 points, grade “very good”). After completing the legal clerkship in the Saarland Higher Regional Court district , he passed the second legal examination in 2012 with the grade “good” (12.33 points). Richter finished both state exams as the best of his year in Saarland. Also in 2012, Richter completed the postgraduate course in European integration at the Europa-Institut Saarbrücken (17.9 points, "a particularly outstanding achievement") and has since been entitled to use the title "LL.M." as a Master of European Law .

Political career

At the age of 18 Richter joined the National Democratic Party of Germany (NPD), where he was instructed and supported by Peter Marx (then state chairman and later general secretary of the federal party). After taking part in a seminar of the “Dresden School” of the NPD Saxony , which the ZDF magazine Frontal21 had reported, Richter was outed as a “Nazi cadre” by the Antifa in August 2005. A short time before, the Saarland state parliament president had refused him the prize for the best high school diploma in politics. After Richter was initially an assessor in the state board of the NPD Saarland, he was elected as deputy state chairman at the end of 2013 as the successor to Frank Franz (national chairman of the party since November 2014). From 2014 to 2019 he was a member of the regional assembly of the Saarbrücken regional association . In June 2016 he ran as a single candidate for the mayoral election in Mettlach . Due to a protest vote against an asylum seekers home, he achieved 9 percent of the votes cast. In the state elections in Saarland in 2017, he ran as the top candidate of the NPD in Saarland, in which the NPD received 0.7 percent of the vote.

Practice as a lawyer

Peter Richter was admitted to the bar in December 2012. Already during his studies he sued his professor for dismissal and took legal action against the Saar Foundation for a scholarship. Richter works as an independent lawyer in a law firm in Saarbrücken-Schafbrücke , at the same address is the headquarters of the Saarland NPD regional association.

Richter represents the NPD as a lawyer in numerous legal proceedings. He was her legal representative in the second NPD ban proceedings, which ended with the rejection of the Federal Council's proposals for prohibition. In addition, he sued on behalf of the party against the then Federal President Joachim Gauck , the Rhineland-Palatinate Prime Minister Malu Dreyer and the then Federal Family Minister Manuela Schwesig , after each of them had publicly rejected the NPD. He argued that they would violate their duties of neutrality as public officials. All three lawsuits failed. In the 2013 federal election campaign , Richter successfully took action against the mayors of three Hessian municipalities. They had arranged for the NPD's election posters to be removed in the meantime. In July 2017, he took legal action against a ban by the Saarbrücken Regional Association, of which he is a member, to forbid the NPD to hold an event on the premises of Saarbrücken Castle.
