Peter Marx (born December 21, 1956 in Speyerbrunn ) is a German politician , state chairman of the NPD Saar and a former member of the Saarbrücken city council for the NPD .

Party career in the NPD

Peter Marx joined the Young National Democrats at the age of 15 and the NPD three years later. He began studying law, but did not graduate and opened a mail order bookstore. He then worked as a “freelance marketing consultant”.

Before reunification he moved to Leipzig and helped found the NPD in Saxony in 1990. He started his political career in 1989 as parliamentary group leader of the NPD in the city council of Frankfurt am Main . After four years he was active in the same function in the district council of the Darmstadt-Dieburg district until 1997 .

As NPD state chairman in Saarland , he led the party to several local parliaments in 2004. At the beginning of September 2004, the party led by Marx only narrowly failed in the state elections in Saarland because of the five percent threshold (4.0%). Marx himself received 9.7 percent in Völklingen . Here, the NPD had already won 9.6 percent of the vote in the city council election. After the electoral successes of the NPD in Saxony, he became parliamentary leader of the NPD parliamentary group in the Saxon state parliament in 2004, and in February 2005 he became the new state chairman of the NPD in Rhineland-Palatinate in place of Martin Laus . In the Leipzig mayor election, Marx ran against the incumbent Wolfgang Tiefensee on April 10, 2005 (2.4% of the votes). Since he is also active as deputy federal chairman, head of the NPD “Office for European Affairs” and NPD federal election campaign manager, he resigned as state chairman in Saarland in July 2005 in favor of his previous deputy Frank Franz. In the 2005 Bundestag election he ran as a direct candidate for the NPD in the Saarbrücken constituency against Oskar Lafontaine and the election winner Elke Ferner (SPD), among others . At the 2008 NPD party congress, he was not re-elected as deputy party chairman.

At the NPD federal party conference in 2013, he was re-elected as an assessor in the national board of the NPD and has since held the office of general secretary again. 2017 was again chairman of the NPD Saar.

In the party he belongs to the "Working Group Christians in the NPD".

Conviction for election fraud

In November 2001 Marx was sentenced to 160 daily rates in nine cases for electoral fraud . The judges of the Darmstadt Regional Court saw it as proven that Marx had sneaked support signatures for NPD candidates in the Hessian local election campaign of 1997 by claiming to older people in particular that the signature campaign was an opposition judge the further influx of foreigners, while it was actually an election list for NPD candidates.

V-Mann allegations against Marx

In September 2005, because of disputes in the Saarland NPD, members there accused Marx of working for the Office for the Protection of the Constitution (VS). For example, the NPD city councilor Otfried Best from Saarland Völklingen on the Saarland radio broadcast that Marx had, as it were, given “comrades” to the protection of the constitution, and stated that he had evidence of this. Even Jürgen Schwab , now leaked from the NPD party author of the sheet German voice , wrote publicly that Marx had asked two officials to enlist by the intelligence services. Half of the money then flowed to Marx through an account of the regional association. Similar allegations came from the former Rhineland-Palatinate NPD state chief Laus. The party leadership, however, demonstratively backed Marx. "We do not participate in speculation, but there is no reason to doubt Peter Marx," said party spokesman Klaus Beier . The case brought by Marx against Best was finally dropped.

resignation

After photos of a party surfaced in which, among others, Marx, a striptease dancer and the former porn actress Kitty Blair , who had previously advertised for the party, had attended and in these pictures a cake in the shape of a penis could be seen, Marx resigned from his post as general secretary of the NPD on April 6, 2014.

Nevertheless, Marx ran for the party's federal chairmanship at the 2014 federal party conference in Weinheim and was defeated by the party's federal press spokesman, Frank Franz , with 32 of 139 votes.
