Peter Schell (born December 14, 1957 in Brugg , † July 22, 2021 in Baden-Baden ) was a Swiss actor .

Life

Schell studied at the Bern Conservatory from 1978 to 1981 . After successfully completing his degree, he spent seven years at various theaters in the GDR, including the Quedlinburg City Stage , the Karl-Marx-Stadt Theater ( Chemnitz ) and the Thale Mountain Theater . Then he moved to West Germany and played at the Städtische Bühnen Nürnberg from 1987 to 1991 and at the Nordhausen Theater from 1991 to 1994 .

Schell has been a freelance actor in film and television since the 1980s. He was best known for the role of Karl Faller in the SWR television series Die Fallers - The SWR Black Forest series , which he played from 1994 for a total of 27 years until his death. Further appearances in front of the camera took place in Die Wache , The Serial Killer , The Dream of Freedom , Our Charly , Dr. Monika Lindt , Hello, Uncle Doc! .

Schell continued to play in various theaters, completed solo appearances and readings. He lived in Berlin and Baden-Baden.

From 1997, Peter Schell was active on the board of trustees of the German Childhood Cancer Care Foundation for the chronically ill child in Tannheim near Villingen-Schwenningen, which campaigns for seriously ill children and their families.

Schell died of a serious illness on July 22, 2021 at the age of 63 in his adopted home Baden-Baden.

Bodywork

Peter Schell dealt a lot with bodywork. He worked as a breathing and yoga teacher throughout the Federal Republic of Germany and beyond, as well as working as a masseur.
