Peter Schlesinger (born October 8, 1937 in Berlin; † May 6, 2014 there ) is a former German soccer player who played ten Bundesliga games for Hertha BSC .

Player career

Peter Schlesinger initially played for BFC Südring . There he became a regular player in the contract league Berlin 1958/59 and completed 32 of 33 league games. However, Südring was only able to leave Rapide Wedding behind and had to relegate.

Schlesinger then moved to league rivals Hertha BSC . Under Hanne Sobek he became a regular player in 1959/60 . However, Hertha missed the championship by one point behind Tasmania . Also in 1960/61 Schlesinger was one of the absolute regular players with 25 appearances that led Hertha to win the title. As a result, the Berliners took part in the final round of the German championship in 1961 , in which Schlesinger played all six games in the group stage. However, there was only one victory at 1. FC Köln . In 1961/62 , like two years earlier, Schlesinger's club missed the league win by one point behind the Tasmanians. But already in 1962/63 Hertha did better and distanced the local competition. Schlesinger was only able to play in seven games. In the final round of the German championship , the midfielder was back in all six games. Behind Cologne and 1. FC Nürnberg , Hertha came third in the group and thus again missed the finals. With the start of the newly introduced Bundesliga , Hertha got a new trainer in Josef Schneider . Under this, Schlesinger came to ten league games in the 1963/64 season. In the Messestädte-Pokal 1963/64 he instead played both games against AS Roma . In the following two seasons, Peter Schlesinger did not appear in the league and only played twice in the cup.

So in 1966 he switched to Berliner SV 92 . For BSV 92 Schlesinger played 34 games in the Berlin Regionalliga before ending his playing career in 1970.
