Peter Sczypa (born April 19, 1948 in Siemianowice as Piotr Jan Sczypa ) is a German figure skating coach. For his home country Poland he used to be an internationally successful pair skater.

Peter Sczypa studied business administration and sport in Katowice. In 1979 he went to Denmark and became a coach. In 1986 he came to Oberstdorf as the national coach of the German Ice Skating Union. In 1988 he became state trainer of the Baden-Württemberg Ice Sports Association and club trainer of the Mannheim ERC . As a federal freelance trainer, he also looks after the ice skaters at the Rhine-Neckar Olympic base. Sczypa achieved extraordinary success in Germany. He trained Claudia Leistner (European Champion and Vice World Champion), Stefan Pfrengle , Anuschka Gläser , Katharina Häcker , Christiane Berger , Denise Zimmermann , Shira Willner , Julia Pfrengle , Sarah Hecken (Olympic Games 2010) and Nathalie Weinzierl (Olympic Games 2014).
