Peter Sippel

Peter Sippel (born October 6, 1969 in Würzburg ) is a former German football referee . From 1998 to 2016 he was in charge of Bundesliga matches .

Soccer

Sippel has been a DFB referee for FC Würzburger Kickers since 1996 . From 1997 he directed games of the second and from 1998 games of the Bundesliga. With the game VfL Wolfsburg against VfL Bochum on November 28, 1998, a game in the upper house of football was under his direction for the first time.

From January 1, 2003 to December 31, 2011, Sippel was FIFA referee, and from 2004 to December 31, 2010, he also directed matches in the UEFA Cup .

Between 2004 and 2005 he was also used in games of the Qatar Stars League and the K League in South Korea .

After the 2015/16 season , shortly before his age-related retirement, Sippel ended his career as a DFB referee for private reasons. He headed a total of 217 Bundesliga games and 150 games in the second division.

Private

Sippel has a degree in business administration and lives in Munich .
