Peter Stelzer

Peter Alan Stelzer (born June 14, 1944 in Chicago , Illinois , † April 5, 2011 in Scottsdale , Maricopa County , Arizona ) was an American theater and film actor , acting coach and film producer .

Life

Stelzer began acting in theater productions on the east coast of the United States at the age of six. He was married to actress Marla Frumkin from August 20, 1982 until his death . The marriage had two daughters. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a Bachelor of Arts degree in theater. He then attended Carnegie Mellon University , which he left with a Master of Fine Arts in theater directing. From 1971 to 1978 he was theater director and acting coach at Cornell University Dept. of Theater. From 1979 he worked as an acting teacher in various institutions such as the California Institute of the Arts or the City College Of New York. Stelzer was Vice President of Anasazi Productions from 1991 to 1998 and President of On Stilts Productions from 2000 to 2003 . He was one of the founders of the Phoenix Film Institute's production company .

He had his first film role in Rock Aliens from 1984. A year later, an episode role in the television series Agentin mit Herz followed . After further smaller roles in the mid and late 1980s, his next line-up did not follow until 1997 in the film Miss Evers' Boys, which was nominated for the Golden Globes . For this film he also acted as a co-producer. He was last seen in a film in Skinwalkers in 2002 . In the 1990s he worked as a film producer.
