Peter Stenger

Peter Stenger (born January 3, 1792 in Geiselbach , Aschaffenburg district ( Lower Franconia ); † June 14, 1874 in Naperville , DuPage County , Illinois , USA) was a brewer and entrepreneur .

As a farmer's son, he married in 1820 in Gramschatz , where 10 children were born. In 1848 he emigrated to America and settled in Naperville (Illinois). There he founded the Stenger Brewery , which he built up from a former brewery . In 1851 he handed over the brewery, which existed until 1893, to his sons John (1825–1911) and Nicholas (1829–1864).
