Peter V. Kunz

Peter Viktor Kunz (born February 1, 1965 in Dulliken ; resident in Rothrist ) is a Swiss business lawyer and former politician .

Life

Peter V. Kunz studied law at the University of Bern from 1984 to 1991 . Parallel to his studies, he worked as a journalist for the Vaterland and the Solothurner Nachrichten . In 1991 he obtained the advocacy license of the Canton of Bern . In 1993 he received his doctorate with the dissertation “Legal nature and order of defense of legal action under stock corporation law” . In 1995/96 he completed his studies at Georgetown University Law Center (GULC) in Washington, DC , which he obtained with an LL.M. completed. In 2001 he received his habilitation at the University of Bern with a paper on the subject of “Protection of minorities in Swiss company law” and was awarded the venia docendi for private law and commercial law. Since 2005 he has been a full professor of business law and comparative law at the University of Bern. He has been dean of the Faculty of Law since 2015 .

Kunz was from 1989 to 1997 justice of the peace and as a member of the FDP in the municipal council of Dulliken and from 1993 to 1997 Solothurn Cantonal Council . He has since resigned from the FDP.

Kunz writes a column for the newspaper az Nordwestschweiz .
