Panayote "Peter" Vilandos (* 1940 ) is a professional American - Greek poker player . He is nicknamed Pete the Greek and triple bracelet winner of the World Series of Poker .

Personal

Vilandos immigrated to the United States at the age of 27 and moved to Houston . There he graduated from the University of Houston with an electrical engineering degree .

Poker career

Career

Vilandos was in May 1993 for the first time at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas successful and came at an event of the variant Limit Hold'em in the price ranks. In late August 1993, he finished second in the Jim Brady Month Championship Event and received more than $ 130,000 in prize money. At the 1995 WSOP , Vilandos won a tournament in Pot Limit Hold'em for almost $ 150,000 and a bracelet . In the World Series of Poker in 2009 , he took second place at the fourth event and then won the tournament # 24 and his second bracelet .
