Petrus Canisius Jean van Lierde
Petrus Canisius Jean van Lierde , OSA , also Peter Canisius Johannes van Lierde , (born April 22, 1907 in Hasselt , Belgium , † March 12, 1995 in Roeselare ) was a Dutch clergyman and curia bishop .
Life
Lierde was ordained a priest in the Augustinian order on May 30, 1931 . He then did his doctorate in theology and philosophy. Pope Pius XII appointed him titular bishop of Porphyreon on January 31, 1951 and Giuseppe Pizzardo donated him episcopal ordination on February 25 of the same year; Co- consecrators were the Curia Bishops Luigi Traglia and Felice Agostino Addeo . Lierde worked as Vicar General of His Holiness for Vatican City until 1991 .

- 1985: Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic
- 1958: Large gold medal with the star for services to the Republic of Austria
