Petrus Matthias Snickers
Petrus Matthias Snickers (born April 11, 1816 in Rotterdam , † April 2, 1895 in Utrecht ) was a Dutch clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Utrecht .
Life
On July 31, 1877, Snickers was first appointed Bishop of Haarlem . The episcopal ordination took place on September 2, 1877 in the Haarlem Cathedral; as principal consecrator acted Archbishop Andreas Ignatius Schaepman , Primate of the Netherlands. Archbishop Henricus van Beek was co-consecrator . After about six years, on April 3, 1883, he was appointed Archbishop of Utrecht. In total, Snickers was a bishop for 17 years, until his death on April 2, 1895.
