Peter Ville is a place in the South African province of North Cape (Northern Cape). It is the administrative seat of the municipality of Renosterberg in the Pixley ka Seme district .
geography
In 2011 Petrusville had 5211 inhabitants; around 57 percent of them were colored . The township Thembinkosi occupies the eastern part of the settlement . The place is in the eastern Karoo in a mostly flat area with a few table mountains , about ten kilometers south of the Oranje and near the Vanderkloof Dam .
history
Around 1877 Petrusville was founded on the Rhenosterfontein farm , which was founded in 1810 by Petrus Jacobus van de Walt. He later left part of the country to the Dutch Reformed Church .
traffic
Petrusville is on the R48 highway , which connects Bloemfontein and Koffiefontein in the northeast with De Aar in the southwest. There is an airport east of the town.
