The Pevikhornet ( Norwegian ) is a 1021 m high nunatak in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It rises up in the Lingetoppane at the eastern end of the Fimbulheimen .
Scientists at the Norwegian Polar Institute named it in 1969. It is named after the brothers Johnny (1913–1944) and Arthur Pevik (1915–1974), who came from the United States and who were active as leaders of the resistance movement against the German occupation of Norway during World War II in Trondheim . Johnny Pevik was murdered by hanging on November 19, 1944 on behalf of SS-Obersturmbannführer Gerhard Flesch at the Gestapo headquarters in Trondheim .
