The Pfaffneren ( Swiss German : Pfaffnere ), also Pfaffnern , is a 15 km long stream in the cantons of Lucerne and Aargau . It is a southern and right tributary of the Aare .

The Pfaffneren rises southeast of the village of Roggliswil at an altitude of 633 m above sea level. M. .
The Pfaffneren flows northwards through the communities Pfaffnau , Murgenthal , Vordemwald and finally flows into Rothrist at an altitude of 392 m above sea level. M. from the right into the Aare.
Its 15.2 km long run ends about 241 meters below its source, so it has an average bed gradient of 16 ‰.
Catchment area
The 47.4 km² catchment area of the Pfaffneren is located on the northern edge of the Swiss plateau and is drained via the Aare and the Rhine to the North Sea.
