Parish Church of All Saints (Wieden)
The parish church of All Saints is a Roman Catholic church in the municipality of Wieden in the Black Forest . It was built at the beginning of the 19th century.
history
Wieden was raised to the status of its own parish in 1810 . Until then, the place belonged to the parish of Schönau in the Black Forest . The plans for a church in Romanesque-Baroque style, drawn up in 1808 by the Lörrach building inspector Rebstock, were approved in the same year. The church was built between 1809 and 1811. After renovations in 1900 and 1909, the church was extensively restored in 1957. In addition to new glazing of the choir windows, the main altar, ambo and tabernacle were renewed, as well as a large fresco on the rear wall of the choir by the Freiburg graphic artist Franz von Hemmerle .
description
Church building
The Wiedener Church consists of a simple, rectangular nave with a gable roof , the rectangular choir adjoining to the east is slightly lower and is also covered by a gable roof. To the east of the choir there is an even lower structure with a separate saddle roof, in which the sacristy is located. On the long sides there are five windows with semicircular arches in the section of the nave and two each in the choir area.
The western gable carries a turret with a slightly bent pyramid roof , which is crowned by a tower ball and cross. The tower shaft has a round arched sound arcade on all four sides and above it a clock face of the tower clock. On the west facade is the main portal, which is protected by a canopy supported on round columns. There is a semicircular window above the canopy. In addition to the main entrance in the west, the church has a side entrance in the south; another in the north was later walled up.
Interior and equipment
The interior is covered with a flat ceiling. The organ gallery is located at the main portal . The choir and nave are connected by a semicircular triumphal arch . There is a side altar on either side of the triumphal arch. The left shows Mary with child in a landscape. The right one originally comes from the St. Joseph's Chapel in St. Peter in the Black Forest . The altarpiece by Simon Göser depicts the death of St. Joseph.
In the nave there are fourteen framed depictions of the Way of the Cross and a statue of St. Wolfgang . The ceiling fresco is a copy of Albrecht Dürer's All Saints' Day picture.
Bells and organ
The three-part bell is composed as follows:
Surname | Chime | Casting year | foundry |
---|---|---|---|
St. Barbara | as ′ | 1949 | Albert Junker, Brilon |
Ave Maria | c ′ | 1949 | Albert Junker, Brilon |
St. Wolfgang | it'' | 1923 | Benjamin Grueninger |
The first organ was built by Martin Braun . Their exact year of construction is unknown. A foundation from Brigitta Sprich - the name of the founder is painted in the middle of the organ brochure - made a new work possible in 1901, which was installed by the Xaver Mönch workshop in Überlingen. The instrument had membrane drawers , a manual , a pedal and twelve registers and had a pneumatic keyboard and register action . In 1959 the organ was rebuilt with two manuals and completely renovated in 1977.
