Catholic parish church hl. Anna in Breitstetten

The Roman Catholic parish church Breitstetten is located in the village of Breitstetten in the municipality of Leopoldsdorf im Marchfelde in the Gänserndorf district in Lower Austria . It is consecrated to St. Anna and belongs to the Marchfeld deanery in the vicariate Unter dem Manhartsberg of the Archdiocese of Vienna . The building is a listed building .

history

The church is essentially a late Romanesque building from the beginning of the 13th century. In 1713 a baroque renovation took place . In 1784 the church was elevated to a parish church.

Church exterior

The church has a simple, essentially late Romanesque nave with a steep pitched roof . The Romanesque round choir was retained during the Baroque period. Possibly it was also a round chapel that was later integrated into the church. Above it is an octagonal east tower with a pyramid helmet from 1807. In the north, a baroque sacristy from the 18th century adjoins the choir, in the west a small vestibule.

Church interior

The nave is three-bay and cross -arched . A narrow, round arched triumphal arch separates the nave from the choir. The much narrower, one-bay choir is closed flat and round. The northern sacristy is vaulted with a stitch cap .

Furnishing

The high altar is a double columned retable from the first half of the 18th century. The altarpiece shows " Anna teaches Maria to read " and dates from the beginning of the 19th century. In the extract is a baroque relief of God the Father . The left side altar dates from the first half of the 18th century. Baroque figures of the saints Johannes Nepomuk and Bernhard stand on it . The altarpiece shows the Heart of Jesus from the first half of the 19th century. On the right side altar there are figures of Saints Sebastian and Rochus . The altarpiece from the first half of the 19th century shows "Mary with Child". The baroque pulpit was built in the first half of the 18th century. Figures of the four evangelists are depicted on the basket and putti on the cover . In the church there is a baroque group of figures representing Anna and Maria. The Stations of the Cross are from the second half of the 19th century. The stained glass windows also date from this period.

The organ from 1840 comes from Franz Ullmann .

Bells

The bell was cast by Balthasar Herold in 1676 .
