Catholic parish church to the Seven Sorrows of Mary in Frättingsdorf

The Roman Catholic parish church of Frättingsdorf is in the village of Frättingsdorf in the municipality of Mistelbach in the Mistelbach district in Lower Austria . It is the commemoration of Sorrows of Mary consecrated and belongs to the deanery Mistelbach-Pirawarth in the Vicariate under the Manhartsberg of the Archdiocese of Vienna . The building is a listed building .

Location description

The church stands at the eastern end of the village of Frättingsdorf.

history

The church was built in 1731 and restored in 1965. In 1949 the church was elevated to a parish church.

Church building

Church exterior

The church is a baroque hall building with a facade tower above a low porch. On the north side is a retracted choir with a 3/8 end. The outer facade is structured by pilasters . The entrance facade on the south side is dominated by the four-storey, slightly protruding church tower. This lies between two volute approaches . The windows of the tower are framed in the form of recessed round arches with wedge stones. Above it is an onion helmet . A sacristy from the third quarter of the 20th century is attached to the choir .

Church interior

The nave has two bays and a barrel vaulted cap . This rests on pilasters over double belt arches . There are plastering fields in the vault. The organ loft is made of wood. A round arched triumphal arch separates the nave from the choir. This is barrel vaulted .

Furnishing

The baroque high altar is a three-part wall retable. The middle part closes at the top in a curved gable. The altarpiece shows the "Seven Sorrows of Mary". In the side niches there are figures of Saints Oswald and Florian from the mid-18th century.

The rest of the furnishings come from the construction period. In the vestibule there is a late baroque crucifix and figures of Saints Rochus and Sebastian .

organ

The organ was made by Franz Strommer at the end of the 19th century .
