The Rötlbach in Upper Bavaria is the most important tributary to Lake Starnberg on its west side.

The brook feeds itself from numerous ditches and lakes in the Eberfinger Drumlinfeld , including Auweiher , Gallaweiher and Bernrieder Weiher . From the hamlet of Karra , the main branch of the stream runs in a north-easterly direction to its mouth in the Karpfenwinkel in the Starnberger See.
