history

A previous building was destroyed by the eruption of the Rofener Eisseee on July 16, 1678 and rebuilt in 1679. As the church had become too small due to the increased population, the nave was demolished in 1805/06 except for the presbytery and replaced by a new building, which was consecrated in 1831. Another flood of the Ötztaler Ache destroyed the church tower in 1868 and rebuilt it in 1870. In 1891 Huben was made a parish.

architecture

The church stands in the valley floor on the northern edge of Huben and is surrounded by a cemetery. The tower with arched sound windows has a short pointed gable helmet. The sacristy is attached to the south. The west facade has a round arched portal, a window opening and flanking niches. On the gable there is a fresco with the donation of St. Martin from the first half of the 19th century.
