history

Klaffer already had its own mess chapel in 1890. In 1941 the Kaplanei Klaffer was established. In 1948 another church building association was founded after the first one from 1896 had failed.

Architect Hans Foschum drew the plans for the hall building built between 1949 and 1955 with a gable roof and recessed choir with a 3/8 end and hipped roof and a side onion dome . The consecration of the church by Bishop Franz Zauner took place on August 15, 1955. The rectory, also planned by Foschum, was completed in 1956. In 1958 Klaffer became an independent parish.

Norbert Johann Pühringer was the first chaplain and long-time pastor of Klaffer, who also played a key role in the establishment of the medicinal herb garden .

The windows were designed by the Viennese artist Lucia Jirgal , the sculptures in the chancel were made by the Linz sculptor Hans Schmidinger . The organ was created in 1969 by organ builder Gregor Hradetzky .

As a special feature, the Klaffer parish church also has a lower church .
