history

A church was mentioned in a document in 1568. The current church was built in the 17th century and expanded to the east in 1759. In 1731 the tower was built. The church was elevated to a parish church in 1859. In 1968 the church was restored and the west facade changed.

architecture

Church exterior

The simple, single-nave baroque church building with a flat arched closed choir with a hipped gable roof in the east and a west tower. The church is surrounded by a cemetery. In the west, an outward-facing war memorial is integrated into the cemetery wall.

The church tower on the west facade, presented with a round-arched entrance portal, is clad with clapboards on the west and south sides and has a baroque onion helmet with the years 1896 and 1962. The side extensions to the tower include a mortuary chapel in the north and a staircase to the gallery in the south. The tower hall has a groin vault. The pointed arched beveled portal to the staircase of the gallery was built in 1968.

Church interior

The four-bay hall has a segmented arch barrel vault. The ceiling painting Key Handover to Petrus, Heiliger Wandel , Marienkrönung is marked 1831 and was restored in 1866 by the painter Eggl. The sacristy in the north was created in 1731. The west gallery has one storey.

Furnishing

The high altar with a marble structure marked 1884 was based on a design by Paul Lange. The wooden crucifix and the figures of God the Father, Peter and Paul, are from the late 17th century.

The top figures on the side altars with a structure by the carver Johann Pfister (1721) were stolen in 1968. The ornamentation around the large altar leaves is from the late 18th century. The pictures from the late 18th century were painted by the painter and sculptor Johann Löxhaller , Sebastian on the left and Martin in the essay, Anna on the right and Nikolaus in the essay.

The pulpit was built in the 18th century and shows the images of Christ and the four evangelists from the second half of the 19th century.

organ

Albert Mauracher organ from 1909

The organ was recreated by organ maker Albert Mauracher in 1909 , presumably in the rebuilt case by Johann Dummel . It has a pneumatic action with a pocket drawer (fast-acting downflow principle). In 2006 the instrument was renovated by Orgelbau Roland Hitsch ( Koppl ), where he replaced the pewter prospect pipes , which had to be delivered to the armaments industry in 1917/18, as pewter pipes . Since the console is relatively far away from the actual organ, Hitsch built in a pneumatic traction relay halfway to increase the response speed of the keys.
