Krispl

Krispl is a municipality with 874 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in the state of Salzburg in the Hallein district in Austria . It includes the double village of Krispl-Gaißau.

geography

The community is located in Tennengau in the Salzburg region in the middle of the Osterhorn group , around 25 km south of the city of Salzburg . Districts of the community are Gaißau and Krispl, Gaißau being larger. There is the ski swing and the famous Spielbergalm recreation area . The newly restored church is located in Krispl.

history

The name Gaizzouwe ( Gaißau ) was first mentioned in a document in 1241. In 1393 a property is described under the Chrispel in the parish of Chuchl . Krispl has been an independent parish since 1859.
