Lechaschau parish church
The Roman Catholic parish church of Lechaschau is located on the Lech Bridge in the southeast of the municipality of Lechaschau in the Reutte district in Tyrol . The parish church consecrated to the Holy Spirit belongs to the deanery Breitenwang in the diocese of Innsbruck . The church is a listed building .
history
A chapel was mentioned in a document at the end of the 14th century. In 1431 a hospital was mentioned next to the church. A late Gothic church was rebuilt around 1480 . 1957 Lechaschau became a local chaplaincy. In 1964 the church was extended with a rectangular nave of the modern age according to the plans of the architect Ingo Feßler . In 1967 a parish vicariate was set up. From 2006 to 2008 the chancel was redesigned according to plans by Sighard Wacker.
architecture
The preserved two-bay late Gothic choir with a three-eighth end with a stitch cap vault serves today as a side chapel, the stitch caps are decorated with stucco molding. The top of the vault shows the fresco Adoration of the Holy Spirit from 1772/1774, after a restoration (2007) Johann Jakob Zeiller was accepted as a painter. The essentially late Gothic tower stands north of the choir. The rectangular modern hall has a tent roof-shaped open roof construction. The long sides of the nave are provided with high-lying ribbon windows.
Furnishing
Above the altar on the altar wall is a crucifix with the signature Fr. Xa. Nissl inv. Et perfecit. 1802 and Fr. Ser. Nissl renovated in 1831. Josef Köpfle created the Way of the Cross at the order of Josef von Führich . The tower clock was created by Wendelin Jäger in the early 19th century. The stained glass windows were designed by Patricia Karg in 1964 .
Steffan Wiggaw mentions a bell in 1484. JA Strobl mentions a bell in 1785. Johann Falger mentions a bell in 1890.
