The Roman Catholic parish church of Mannersdorf an der Rabnitz is in the municipality of Mannersdorf an der Rabnitz in the Oberpullendorf district in Burgenland . It is consecrated to the Holy Trinity and belongs to the dean's office in Oberpullendorf in the Eisenstadt diocese . The building is under monument protection ( list entry ).

Location description

The church stands in the center of the village and is surrounded by a defensive wall.

history

The parish was first mentioned in a document in 1239. The choir dates from the first half of the 14th century, the nave was rebuilt in 1748. In 1966 and 1967 the church was renovated.

Church exterior

The baroque nave is structured by triangular buttresses . The church tower in front has a stone pyramid spire. The Gothic choir is a little lower and retracted compared to the nave. It ends in the 5/8 end. There are renewed tracery windows on the south side.

Church interior

The nave of the church has four bays. Above it is a narrow transverse vault between wide belt arches that rest on pilasters . The three-axis gallery is vaulted under a square . The triumphal arch is rounded. There is a pressed ribbed vault above the choir. The ribs are fuller and the keystone is shaped like a clover leaf. The ribs end in two consoles with ornamental decoration and four consoles with figural decoration. Three represent a human head and one a dog's head. The session is in three parts and features renewed tracery. The sacrament niche is square. In the sloping apse there are Gothic fragments of wall paintings from the middle of the 14th century and from the 15th century. They were restored in 1965.

Furnishing

The left side altar is a flat wall altar with a scroll frame. The picture from the second half of the 18th century shows St. John Nepomuk . On the triumphal arch is a large crucifix from the 18th century. It was restored in 1968. The rough carved figures of Maria Immaculata and St. Joseph date from the second half of the 18th century. They were restored in 1966. The Marian column on the right wall of the nave dates from the second half of the 17th century. It is a column Madonna in good old form. It was restored in 1966. There is an old Rococo tombstone in the old cemetery next to the church .

Bell jar

The bell was cast by Christof Packendorff in Neustadt in 1760 .
