The Roman Catholic parish church Markt Sankt Martin is located in the municipality of Markt Sankt Martin in the Oberpullendorf district in Burgenland . It is consecrated to St. Martin and belongs to the dean's office in Oberpullendorf in the Eisenstadt diocese . The building is a listed building .

history

The parish is a pre-Reformation parish that was rebuilt in 1636. The church was built at the end of the 18th century and rebuilt in 1872. According to an inscription, the tower was built in 1906. Restorations took place in 1975 and 1976.

Church exterior

The church is a large building with buttresses on the nave. The drafted choir ends in a 3/8 ending. The front west tower has neo-Romanesque decoration and is crowned by an original stone helmet.

Church interior

The nave has five bays, the bays are divided by belt arches that rest on flat pilasters . In between is a narrow arched square vault . The gallery is triaxial. There is also a square vault in the square choir yoke.

Furnishing

Most of the furnishings date from the end of the 19th century.

Bells

A bell was cast by Matthias Creuz in Vienna in 1756 .

graveyard

The surrounding cemetery is surrounded by a wall. Stations of the Cross from 1906 are attached to this. In the cemetery there is also a calvary on an artificially raised hill. A holy grave was established in the grotto in 1837.
