The Roman Catholic parish church Oberdorf im Burgenland is in the town of Oberdorf im Burgenland in the district Oberwart in Burgenland . It is consecrated to St. Anne and belongs to the Pinkafeld dean's office in the Eisenstadt diocese . The building is under monument protection ( list entry ).

The church is located in the highest district of Kirchendorf in Oberdorf.

history

The church was built in 1757. In 1869 a reconstruction took place, the church tower and the vault were rebuilt. Initially, the church was a branch church of the Rotenturm parish on the Pinka and was elevated to an independent local pastoral care office in 1948. In 1968 a restoration took place and in 1995 the church was raised to an independent parish church.

The church is a single-nave building with a choir without an entrance. The apse ends in a 3/8 end. The integrated facade tower has a pointed helmet .

Church interior

The nave of the church has three bays. Above it is a high square vault between wide belt arches that rest on pilasters . The vaulted gallery is triaxial and rests on pillars. The extended parapet rests on wooden supports. There is a square vault in the choir yoke and a cap vault above the apse .

Furnishing

The side altar

The high altar dates from 1779 and was changed in 1968. The altar is a flat wall altar with columns and a sculptural top group. The wooden figures represent St. Nicholas and St. Joseph and date from the end of the 19th century. The altarpiece is from more recent times. The side altar was built in the middle of the 18th century. It has a coat of arms of the Erdödy family . It was transferred from the old chapel to Rotenturm Castle in 1836 .

organ

The organ was built in 1870 by Friedrich Werner from Graz .
