history

The miraculous image "Maria Helferin" was found in 1626 at a place where healing water came out of the ground. A chapel was soon built over it. From the beginning of the 18th century to the 19th century, hermits were the guardians of the Marian shrine, which soon became the center of a regional pilgrimage. The current church was built between 1762 and 1764 instead of an older wooden church opposite the source chapel. It was elevated to a parish church in 1871. A restoration took place in 1976. In 1982 the church was expanded. Even today, many people make pilgrimages to this source.

The interior of the church

The church is a high baroque building with an almost square floor plan and a semicircular apse . The three-storey east tower with onion helmet was built in the years 1932/33 in baroque form.

Above the nave with the east yoke in front there is a square vault . The vault is stretched between belt arches that rest on fluted pilasters. The west gallery with flat parapets rests on two supports.

The high altar was built in the second half of the 17th century. Between each two Corinthian columns there is a niche in which there is a Madonna and Child. The top is decorated with a round gable and columns. Below and above are figures of saints, in the essay God the Father with putti .

The baptismal font was created in the third quarter of the 18th century with a small baptismal group on the lid.
