Building description

The church is a late baroque hall church built in 1759 , which probably contains older masonry in the lower parts of the tower and in the nave walls. A late Gothic portal has been preserved on the south wall of the nave . The western vestibule tower from 1780 has arched sound windows and is crowned by an onion helmet. A bell was cast by Marx Mathias Zechenter in 1716. On the south side of the tower is a Roman epitaph for the veteran and former centurion Ulpius Dasio and his women Ulpia Nigrina.

In the nave korbbogige share belts the groin vault in three bays. The curved organ gallery is decorated with simple rococo stucco . The organ, built around 1700, was originally in the parish church of Feistritz ob Grades . The short choir ends with a flat round apse .

Facility

The uniform late Baroque furnishings with figurative and ornamental carvings were made in the third quarter of the 18th century in Johann Pacher's workshop. The image of Saint Stephen is flanked on the inside by the figures of the apostles Peter and Paul and on the outside by Saints John Nepomuk and Francis Xavier . At the very outside on the wall are the statues of Saints Florian and Donatus . The essay is a picture of the Holy Trinity and the figures of the peasant saints Isidore and Notburga as well as angels and putti.

The left side altar conceals a Mother of God with a child in the shrine . On the side are the statues of Saints Anna and Joachim . The top picture shows the encounter at the Golden Gate.

The right side altar is decorated with a relief of the Last Supper . The top is the statue of the Archangel Michael .

The pulpit from the third quarter of the 18th century is attributed to Johann Pacher. The four evangelists sit at the pulpit . Moses and four putti with symbols of virtue stand on the sound cover .

Karner

The Karner south of the church is a small, late Gothic building from 1522 with a three-eighth corner, ridge turret and stone slab roof . Inside, a two-bay ribbed vault rests on consoles. The picture of St. Martin in a richly carved frame was created around 1720. The ossuary is housed in the basement .
