Use between 1998 and 2015

From 1998 to the beginning of 2015, the Phoenix Hall was used as a concert, event and exhibition hall. It has a usable area of ​​almost 5,000 m² and a ceiling height of 11.20 to 12.50 m. The total width is 59.42 m and the depth 80 m. The space that can be used for events is 23.5 m wide and extends over the entire depth. Different seating arrangements - standing concert, chair concert, parliamentary, banquet - could accommodate up to 3,000 people in the auditorium. The expandable grandstand had 644 seats.

The extensive renovation of the Mainz State Theater , which needed an alternative venue, helped at the start . During this time the performances took place in the Phoenix Hall. From concerts to ballet to opera , the entire theater program could be played in Mombach. The extensive lighting and sound systems of the State Theater remained in the hall. In the meantime it had also become known that the Eltzer Hof in Mainz was to be integrated into the state museum , so that there was definitely a need for an alternative hall.

Events until 2015

In the hall found cabaret events , comedy , theater , musicals , dance shows, conferences , fairs and musical events take place, including concerts of Fish , Götz Alsmann , Udo Jürgens , Helmut Lotti , Klaus Doldinger , Kollegah , Helge Schneider , BAP , but also local events like the Mainz Comedy Night with Mundstuhl and Tobias Mann , larger events of the Frankfurter Hof or the lower house as well as events of the Mainz Carnival .

Development since 2016

At the beginning of 2015, the Phoenix Hall was taken over by a new operating company, Halle 45 GmbH . Since the previous operator did not want to part with the naming rights, the name of Phönix-Halle in Hall 45 had to be changed. At the end of 2015 the hall was available again for events. According to the intentions of the operators, hall 45 is to become a venue for concerts and theater, lavish product presentations, trade fairs and major sporting events. For this purpose, the hall was completely gutted and equipped with new security technologies. The total investment was around EUR 2.5 million. Thanks to a room partition system, the entire area can now be used individually and adapted to the different formats. The total area is divided into the main hall, the foyer and a bar. The number of people allowed for events is 2,000, and this is to be increased in the future.
