Phare de la Teignouse is the name of a lighthouse between the Quiberon peninsula and the island of Houat , which belongs to the French commune of Quiberon in the Morbihan department . It has a range of approximately 14.5 nautical miles .
history
Built from 1843 onwards, it went into service on January 1st, 1845. In 1970 the tower was electrified with a wind generator and after the complete automation the last lighthouse keepers left the tower in July 1983. The wind generator was later replaced by solar panels .
It illuminates the Passage de la Teignouse and, together with the Port-Navalo lighthouse, shows the way to the entrance to the Gulf of Morbihan .
