Pheriche ( Nepali फेरिचे ) is a village in the Khumbu region in eastern Nepal . It is located in Sagarmatha National Park at an altitude of about 4,371 m . Pheriche is a station on the Mount Everest Trek between Namche Bazar and Mount Everest Base Camp and is a popular stopover for trekkers and mountaineers to acclimatise to the altitude.

Pheriche was a traditional village of mountain farmers who focused on growing potatoes and buckwheat, and keeping yaks . Today the place has adapted strongly to trekking tourism. There are several lodges and many locals work as mountain guides or porters.
In Pheriche there is the Pheriche Aid Post, a rudimentary hospital operated by the Himalayan Rescue Association (HRA) based in Kathmandu . Its origins go back to 1973. Research into altitude sickness later became a focus of the station. It is considered the highest hospital in the world. After the devastating earthquake in Nepal in April 2015 , Pheriche was also badly damaged and the hospital was involved in providing first aid to the injured from Everest Base Camp.
