Philip Albrecht (born November 21, 1979 ) is a former German soccer player . The striker , who once played in the Bundesliga for FC St. Pauli , had to end his career early due to an injury.

Career

Albrecht played in the youth division at Wedeler TSV , then in the offspring of Hamburger SV . From 1998 he played at VfL Pinneberg as a central defender in the men's division, in 2000 he moved to FC St. Pauli, where he played for the second team. As a defender he was not used, so he offered himself in training as a striker and became a constant in this position. In the 2001/02 season he temporarily moved up to the club's professional squad under coach Dietmar Demuth . On the penultimate match day - the Hamburg club was already relegated early - he made his professional debut on the occasion of a 2: 3 away defeat at SV Werder Bremen , when he replaced Marcão in the 75th minute of the game . In April 2002 he was named Hamburg's amateur footballer of the year after scoring 31 goals this season for the second team of FC St. Pauli. Also in the subsequent second division season he was part of the extended squad, but ran mainly on the second substitute in the Oberliga Nord . Nevertheless, he came in the course of the second division season 2002/03 to four more professional missions, in which he remained without scoring.

In the Oberliga season 2003/04 Albrecht contributed to the fact that the second team of FC St. Pauli could establish itself in the front area. As a result, he played himself back into the focus of the first team, which was relegated to the regional league. By the end of the season, he contributed a goal in twelve games, while he ended the season with the league team as leaders. After a cartilage damage in his knee during training in September 2004, however, he had to end his active career at the age of 25, as several operations and cures did not bring any improvement.

Albrecht had during his playing days at the University of Hagen , a business administration degree begun. He ended his career at the end of his career due to injury and then went into business for himself as a study and further training companion for competitive athletes.
