Philipp Benitius Mayr

Philipp Benitius Mayr , OSM (born December 17, 1760 in Hall in Tirol , † June 15, 1826 in Innsbruck ) was a Servite Father and professor at the University of Innsbruck .

Philipp Benitius Mayr attended high school in Hall and joined the Servite Order in 1777. He was ordained a priest in 1784 and worked from 1788 to 1796 as a preacher and cooperator in the Servite parish. In 1793 he was appointed "academic preacher". He was appointed professor of religious philosophy at Innsbruck University in 1804, and later that of aesthetics.

Some of his sermons were recorded in writing and published in a six-volume work in 1839.
