Philipp Friedrich Hane

Philipp Friedrich Hane (born February 2, 1696 in Belitz near Teterow, † September 27, 1774 in Kiel ) was a German Protestant theologian and church historian .

Life

Philipp Friedrich Hane was born in Belitz on February 2, 1696 as the son of the Mecklenburg pastor Joachim Stephan Hane (1668-1725). After he was trained at a grammar school in Hamburg , he first moved to Rostock University in 1716 to study theology; later he moved to the University of Jena , where he received his master's degree in 1718. He completed his habilitation at the University of Kiel in 1723 and in the following year he became librarian at the university library . Another year later he became a full professor of church and civil history. In 1730 he was employed as an extraordinary professor of theology and was awarded the theological doctorate . As of Churches and member of the Upper Consistory to Hane set up three years later one, in 1758 again as a teacher of theology. In that year, however, he also retired and died on September 27, 1774 in Kiel at the age of 78.
