Philipp Jakob Karrer

Philipp Jakob Karrer (* 20th October 1762 in Memmingerberg , † 21st February 1836 in Kempten ) was a German reconnaissance aircraft as a teacher and Protestant pastors .

The son of a girls' schoolteacher obtained his university entrance qualification in Memmingen in 1781 ; studied pedagogy at the University of Halle and from 1785 to 1787 theology at the University of Altdorf near Nuremberg. He was ordained in 1791, took up pastorships in Memmingen and Woringen and in 1818 became chief preacher and royal Bavarian district dean ( superintendent ) at St. Mang in Kempten, and also district school inspector .

Karrer took the position of theological rationalism and published a. a. a series of educational, geographical and historical texts on education and textbooks for vocational schools . Karrer became known for his story about the Reformation in Memmingen and the local history of Kempten. In recognition of his services, the University of Erlangen awarded him an honorary doctorate in 1816. phil.
