Philipp Longard

Philipp Longard (born September 12, 1860 in Sigmaringen ; † March 3, 1920 ibid) was a Prussian civil servant and member of parliament.

Life

Philipp Longard was the son of the government councilor and administrative court director Johann Claudius von Longard and the grandson of the painter Philipp Veit on his mother's side . He attended elementary school and from 1869 to 1878 the grammar school in Sigmaringen. He then studied law in Freiburg, Bonn, Munich and Strasbourg from 1878 to 1881 . In 1881 he passed the first state examination and in 1888 the second.

From 1882 to 1884 he was a court trainee at various locations, from 1884 to 1888 government trainee with the governments of Sigmaringen, Hildesheim and Cologne and from 1888 to 1891 government assessor in Sigmaringen and Königsberg. In 1891 he became a senior bailiff at the Hechingen District Office, which he held until 1903. From 1903 to 1920 he was then senior bailiff at the Sigmaringen Oberamt . From 1892 to 1895 and from 1898 to 1902 for the Oberamt Hechingen and from 1902 to 1918 for the Oberamt Sigmaringen he was a member of the municipal parliament of the Hohenzollern region . In 1912 he was appointed a secret councilor.

Longard was chairman of the Sigmaringen-Gammertingen official committees, chairman of the branch association of the Red Cross and from 1903 also chairman of the district office for agriculture and trade.
