Philipp Nauss
Philipp Albert Franz Alois "Wippi" Nauß (born December 3, 1881 in Vienna , † July 15, 1958 in Graz ) was an Austrian national soccer player , as well as a colonel and city commander of Graz.
Career
Philipp Nauß was a goalkeeper in the early days of Austrian football for what was then the leading club, WAC . Until 1906 he stood in the gate for the Prater people and was able to win the ÖFU championship three times and the Challenge Cup three times . Philipp Nauß was also part of the Austrian team in the original match against Switzerland in 1901 and in the first official match against Hungary in 1902 . In both cases he did not concede. Nauß was also the goalkeeper of the WAC water polo team, with whom he won ten championship titles.
The goalie was transferred to Innsbruck, however, after his sporting activities as a lieutenant in Vienna were disapproved by the Austro-Hungarian army . As an avid footballer, he also joined Innsbruck as a member of football in Innsbruck . The sporting activity of Phillip Nauß in Innsbruck also meant that he was transferred to Herzegovina . However, he later returned to Innsbruck and devoted himself to the new sport of handball ; At times he was also president of the Innsbruck handball association.
